Our senior capstone class is a yearlong program that ties in everything we have learned throughout our fashion studies BA. It combines the work of merchandisers as well as product development students to create a product for the brand (Loulette Bride). We were tasked to create two look, one that can be worn during the ceremony and another for the after party. I focused on the ceremonial look, digital design of the overall project and garment construction of the corset. My corset includes three layers of fabric, the self or most outer layer, a canvas layer for structure and a lining for comfort. The corset has boning and style lines for structure and shaping. Because the dress is strap less, I created a waist stay to support the weight of the dress as well as to combat it from falling off.
