Within this 5-week class I experimented with utilizing recycled materials to create something new. The gardens invited us on site to pick through materials they provided. I chose to use a banner, team member cotton t-shirts, plant markers and embroidery thread. For both the top as well as the pants I used transformation reconstruction to give the garments an organic look. I enjoy experimenting on each of my projects and for this one I chose to try sashiko embroidery for the first time which you can see throughout both the shirt and pant.
